I had such a great time on the Jane Austen Nerds Tour, summer of 2023! While I had not previously been a passionate Austen fan, I already knew Joan Weber personally, and knew she would produce a tour that was fun and insightful. I had plenty of time to revisit all of Austen's work, as well as watch two movies from different decades of each, to really set in some of the major plot elements. As an adult, I have come to appreciate her style, content and humor, much more than I did as a teen. Seeing where Austen lived during several aspects of her life was wonderful and informative, as well as helping to solidify my knowledge of the time period. Each venue was carefully chosen with interesting augmentation, like a creative writing workshop at her house in Acton, lunch in a private library room in Chawton House, and Tea at the Pump Room in Bath. Free time was allotted every day, so we had additional experiences. I so loved getting to know Acton as more than a hotel stay. The coach rides to Winchester and Bath, both provided additional treats of scenery. And it was such a pleasure to meet the other members of the tour, each with their own knowledge and appreciation of Austen, England, and Joan. If you can, GO! I'm a little jealous that there will be some new adventures on next year's tour, but oh so appreciative that I had the chance to go when I did!"
